S1 Book Group

Some pupils in S1 have been selected to come along to a book club every two weeks. We are currently reading Charlie Higson's 'The Enemy' with the boys' group and 'My sister lives on the mantelpiece' with the girls group. The boys are in the middle of making a game to go with it and the girls are just about to start. We are enjoying ourselves - well, I am anyway!

Networking taster session at Dundee College

Networking taster session at Dundee College

Connor was the first to get his cable working .

Four of our Advanced Higher and Higher Computing class visited Dundee College yesterday afternoon where they were given a tour of the Gardyne Road campus and took part in a practical networking lesson. As part of the lesson pupils had to produce their own working network cable, which we all soon discovered was harder than it looks! The boys all looked great in their school uniform, representing the school in fine fashion. The trip hopefully opened the pupils minds to different career paths and education options when they leave St Paul's.

12 pupils from the Gamemaker club visited Sensation yesterday to take part in a robotics workshop. The pupils were given the challenge to program a Lego Mindstorms robot to navigate through a maze and shoot at a target. All the teams succeeded in the challenge and their behaviour was impeccable. Pupils also got a chance to look around the Monsters, Myths and Legends exhibition.
