St Paul’s R.C. Academy is a Roman Catholic, six year co-educational comprehensive school. There are six associated Primary Schools –

St Paul’s R.C. Academy can accommodate between 1000 and 1100 pupils in a state of the art building on a site adjacent to Dundee College.
The building comprises of four main blocks.
This block consists of the cafeteria and dining area as well as Food Technology, Craft, Design Technology, English, Modern Languages, Social Subjects, Business Studies and Computing.
Block B boasts of cultural activities including the Chapel, Learning Resource Centre, Art, Music, Recording Studio, Drama and Make up area, Biology, Chemistry and Physics Laboratories. The staffroom, including a quiet area is adjacent to block B on the first floor.
Block C is host to the Reception and Welcome Area including the Medical Area, the Print Room, the Main Office, the Headteacher’s Office and Administration Offices. The Support for Pupils area includes Pupil Support rooms, and Craft rooms as well as inter-agency rooms. The Guidance base and Pupil and School Support Workers’ room is also in this area. On the first floor are the Mathematics and Religious Education Departments.
Block D houses the Community and Sports Area where the Fitness Suite, Dance Studio, Gym, Games Hall, Swimming Pool, wet and dry changing rooms are located. There is a Snack Bar and Locker Area available too.
St Paul’s R.C. Academy has a wide range of modern technology including interactive white boards. One lam TV system, radio broadcasting suite and a large well resourced Learning Resource Centre with computers.
Subjects with specific requirements as far as computing facilities are concerned (e.g. Computing, Business Management, Craft, Design and Technology) have been equipped to appropriate levels. All fitted and loose furniture throughout the school is brand new and the building complies fully with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Acts with lifts and disabled toilets being provided throughout.
Outdoor sports facilities include a full sized synthetic football/hockey pitch and an
11-a-side and 7-a-side grass pitch.
The school’s excellent sporting and cultural facilities provide a first class resource for the local community and these areas of the building are heavily used in the evenings and at weekends. The school will have first call on these resources each evening up to early evening.
