BUSINESS STUDIES DEPARTMENT HOME LEARNING POLICY

In S1, S2 and S3 courses, pupils will be issued at least one piece of home learning for each topic.  It is the intention of Business Studies Department and Computing Department (for S1 ICT) to issue one piece of home learning on average every two weeks, although this may vary depending on the topic.

All National 4/5 and Higher pupils will be issued one piece of homework each week.  Home Learning will take the form of written material, points of study or reading revision.

There are a range of home learning activities for each course.  Teachers will differentiate materials and activities according to the needs of the class and individuals.

Procedure for Non-Completion of Homework

  • A Home Alert text message will be sent for any pupil who has a piece of home learning outstanding.

  • A referral will also be made to the Principal Teacher notifying this lack of submission.

  • The pupil will be also be spoken to by the Principal Teacher if appropriate.

  • If home learning is not handed in on a date agreed with the Principal Teacher, a home learning letter signed by the Principal Teacher and their Guidance Teacher will be sent home.
